Aylesbury Vale recorded its lowest number of new daily Covid cases this week, 10 new positive tests were confirmed by the government today (June 24).

Just 10 cases being confirmed in a 24-hour period, represents a significant improvement from yesterday's numbers. Yesterday, 32 new cases were confirmed in just one day in Aylesbury Vale.

Lower totals locally, comes against a backdrop where a high number of positives are being returned throughout the country.

Yesterday, over 16,000 positive tests were returned in just one day for the first time in over four months, today's figures also surpassed that benchmark.

Overall, 16,703 new Covid cases were announced throughout the UK.

Once again, no virus-linked deaths were returned in Aylesbury Vale. These deaths are categorised by Public Health England as when someone passes within 28 days of returning a positive test.

One new Covid-linked hospital admission was confirmed by the Buckinghamshire Healthcare service, admission figures are accurate up to June 20.

In the past 24 hours a further 861 vaccinations were completed for first dose patients and another 363 adults in Aylesbury Vale have been jabbed twice.

Other national statistics for the past 24 hours, showed a further 21 confirmed virus-linked deaths and 204 more hospital admissions.

In the UK 82.9% of over 18s have been vaccinated at least once protecting against Covid, 60.6% have received both doses.
