Two patients die from coronavirus at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury

The Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) confirmed on Wednesday evening that four patients have died from COVID-19 at hospitals across the county.

Two of those who sadly passed away were patients at Stoke Mandeville hospital in Aylesbury, and two others died at Wycombe Hospital.

Two of the patients were over 60 years old and two were over 80 years old. All four had underlying health conditions.

Two were male and two were female.

A BHT statement said: “Sadly, we can confirm that two patients who were being cared for at Wycombe Hospital and two patients who were being cared for at Stoke Mandeville Hospital have died.

"The two men and two women were admitted with underlying health conditions and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. Two of the patients were in their late 60s and two in their 80s.

"The families have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. We will not be commenting further and ask that everybody respects the families’ privacy."

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Buckinghamshire stands at 39.
