In an update posted yesterday, Bucks Council said vaccination sites in Aylesbury and Wycombe 'should' be up and running next week.

And the council also revealed plans for two mass vaccination centres.

"Covid Update: We’re working with the NHS to increase our vaccine capacity across Buckinghamshire," a Bucks Council spokesman said.

"So far, we have vaccinated over 9,500 people. We continue to prioritise care home residents and staff, those over 80, and health and social care workers.

"Please do not contact your GP for a vaccine, when it’s your turn, they will be in touch with you. We already have Vaccination sites up and running in Chalfont St Peter, Winslow, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe and Chesham.

"New sites should start vaccinating next week in Aylesbury and High Wycombe town centre with further sites to follow. Two mass vaccination sites are being planned."

There were a total of 192 positive coronavirus tests in Aylesbury Vale in the latest statistics released last night and two new deaths.

There has been a 15% rise in cases in the last week and a 200% rise in deaths with 18 recorded.

There have been 87 patients admitted to Bucks NHS Trust hospitals due to Covid in the last week, 25 in the last 24-hour period.
