60,734 people have tested positive for the disease across the country but only seriously ill patients and some care workers have currently been tested.

The number of people in Buckinghamshire confirmed to have contracted coronavirus is 342. This number does not include data for Milton Keynes.

Last night the Prime Minister spent his second night in the intensive care unit at St Thomas' Hospital and is said to be “responding to treatment,” by a Downing Street spokesperson.

The Government has also said today that there will be no imminent loosening of lockdown restrictions.

Earlier, former Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said restrictions were likely to remain in place “for another month” while Mayor of London Sadiq Khan says the lockdown is “nowhere near being lifted.”

Globally, almost one and a half million people are known to have been infected with coronavirus and currently 83,588 have sadly died.

The latest NHS advice to help stop the spread of coronavirus is that you should only leave the house for one of the four following reasons:

- Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible

- One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household

- Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person

- Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home

- Ensure you are two metres apart from anyone outside of your household

You should also:

- Wash your hands with soap and water often – for at least 20 seconds

- Wash your hands as soon as you get home

- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

- Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands

- Not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
