Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bucks rises to 45

There are now 6,650 confirmed cases in the UK to be precise, with 335 people known to have died.

Globally, 366,857 people have now contracted the disease and 16,098 have died from coronavirus.

Over the past 24 hours in the UK, those who have died from coronavirus have been aged between 47 and 103.

Today is the first day of school closures across the country but with social media exposing the reality that many are ignoring the Government's pleas for people to stay at home, it is feared more strict measures may be introduced this week to slow the spread of the virus.

Over the weekend many videos, particularly from NHS workers, went viral on social media asking people to stay at home in order to save lives.

The latest NHS advice on minimising the chances of contracting or spreading coronavirus is:

- Wash your hands with soap and water regularly for at least 20 seconds

- Always wash your hands when you get home or into work

- Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) if you cough or sneeze

- Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

- Avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of coronavirus

- Only travel on public transport if you need to

- Work from home if possible

- Avoid social activities, such as going to pubs, restaurants, theatres and cinemas

- Avoid events with large groups of people

- Use phone, online services, or apps to contact your GP surgery or other NHS services

- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

- Do not have visitors to your home, including friends and family
