Aylesbury residents create NHS mural to thank vital workers in fight against Coronavirus

A brilliant Banksy-inspired graffiti art on a garage door in Aylesbury pays tribute to the NHS amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The picture shows an NHS nurse with a face mask emblazoned with the Superman badge next to the words 'Thank You NHS'.

Freya and Michael, who live in the area decided to paint the mural as a tribute to our amazing NHS workers.

They both work in the TV Industry as special effects technicians, working on prosthetics.

Freya said: "We are both very artistic and creative and miss being creative at work so thought it was perfect time to do something to say thank you to the NHS

"We did the mural because we are so proud of the NHS and everything they are doing for us during these tough times, working long stressful hours just to keep us safe.

"I saw the impact it had on key workers when they would see a rainbow in someone’s window and it’s that kind of appreciation that they need to see to keep them going.

"Plus like many I don’t know how many of my neighbours that walk/drive past my house are working for the NHS/ key workers and if I can make them smile then it was all worth it."

The stenciled graffiti - like that made famous by street artist Banksy - has popped up on the garage of a house in Old Brewery Close in Aylesbury town centre.Freya added: "My message to the NHS Is thank you so much for everything you are doing Sacrificing your own life to save others is just amazing.

"You are all the real life hero’s of this country and I’m so proud of you all. Thank you!"
