Can you help Lucifer the cat get the treatement he needs?

Victoria Ward's cat Lucifer was knocked down by a car on Monday July 20 and was left with a fractured pelvis and a horrific wound to his back leg.

Victoria said: "Both me and my 12-year-old son see Lucifer as one of our best friends, so we were absolutely devastated when he was hit by a car.

"It was heartbreaking to see him as he had crawled back to our house after he was hit.

"He has been in the vets all week and it was touch and go as to whether he would survive."

Lucifer usually never wanders far from their home, and usually plays behind the woodland outside the family home in Fairford Leys.

The family have been landed with a vet bill of nearly £2,000.

Added to this, the family were told that Lucifer might now lose his leg because of problems with the blood circulation to his foot.

However, Victoria had noticed he had been venturing further and further away from their home and was becoming brave .... she decided she had to insure him, and was due to do this on Friday Payday.

She said: "I feel so irresponsible, I was just about to get him insured before this accident.

"It doesn't look like we'll get him home now until next week.

"The vets have said he will recover but it's going to be a long process 24hour care and cage rest for at least 8 weeks''

Victoria says she's been 'out of her mind for worry', and is having trouble sleeping and eating because of the guilt.

The family have set up a just giving page, having nearly raised their target of £1700.

Victoria added: "If you can help at all, we would be eternally grateful. He really a member of the family my best friend and we love him ever so dearly
