Another Coronavirus-linked death confirmed in Aylesbury, whilst case numbers remain stable

A new death linked to a positive Covid test in Aylesbury Vale has been confirmed today (April 22).

Deaths recorded relate to people who pass within 28 days of returning a positive Coronavirus test.

New case numbers were low again in Aylesbury, only four new positive tests were confirmed in the past 24 hours. This represents a further drop from yesterday when only nine positive tests were reported.

The infection rate for Aylesbury Vale currently sits at 23.1 cases per 100,000. The borough's infection rate is narrowly below the national average which sits at 24.3 cases per 100,000.

In Buckinghamshire overall, 29 new cases of Covid were confirmed today. Meaning since the start of the pandemic 31,452 people have tested positive for the virus.

Nationally, 2,729 new cases of Covid were confirmed today and 18 new virus-linked deaths were recorded.
