In this most difficult of years, Tring School is pleased to announce a very strong set of A-level and BTEC results.

With the coronavirus pandemic preventing students from sitting exams this year, results this year have been awarded using a process known as 'Centrally Assessed Grades'.

This grade is derived using the teachers’ professional judgements based upon each student’s previous academic achievement and their likely performance in the summer exam. Statistical moderation will have been applied nationally.

Prior to the school being closed Tring students had demonstrated a huge commitment and a tireless dedication to their studies. It is such a pity that they were denied the opportunity to take their exams but they should nonetheless feel immensely proud of what they have achieved.

The overall A Level and BTEC outcomes are slightly above the 3 year average and include 24% A* to A and 56% A* to B.

Amongst the many A Level and BTEC success stories, this year's highest performers include:

Head of School Sally Ambrose said: "We are hugely proud of our Sixth Form students who have achieved an excellent set of results this year.

"The Centrally Assessed Grade process obviously isn’t the way they wanted to gain those results yet overall the grades are excellent and reflect our continued strong academic reputation, placing us amongst the top performing Sixth Forms in Hertfordshire.

"Many congratulations to all of our students on everything they have achieved.

"We wish them very well as they make the decisions on the next steps in their lives.

"Thanks, as always, must go to our teachers, parents, governors and trustees for their crucial support along the way."
