Plans detail the ‘construction of a two-storey extension to Griffin House School, including the demolition of the existing building’.

The objective is to “replace outworn temporary classrooms on site that have now reached the end of their useful life”, and to ‘provide additional much needed space…for an intake of pupils from a recent closure at St Teresa’s Catholic School, in Princes Risborough’.

The proposal includes nine classrooms (four of which will replace the existing early years temporary building), a staff room, and ancillary facilities, a planning statement indicates.

Five new full-time staff will also be needed.

“The provision of additional classroom space, including replacement for outworn facilities and to accommodate pupils displaced from the closure of a nearby school, specifically meets the needs of the local community,” a planning statement reads.

The applicant is now awaiting a decision from Bucks Council.
