Princes Risborough School students enjoyed an excellent set of exam results at both A Level and BTEC today (Thursday).
Almost 75% of students gained A*-C grades and there were a record number of A* passes.
The same is the case for BTEC students where the average grade achieved has been a Distinction.
Headteacher Pete Rowe said: “It is wonderful to see so many students exceeding their target grades – we always encourage our youngsters to aim higher.
“I am particularly pleased for Ella Hatfield (A*s in History and Extended Project, and As in English and French) who is off to Cambridge University to study English Literature.
“I am also pleased that the range of degrees chosen for university courses is so broad showing excellence across all subjects; Alessia Montinaro (A* in Italian and As in Economics and Maths) is off to Surrey University to study Economics whilst one of our most talented artists, Molly Hitchcock (A* in Art and As in English Literature and French) will be studying Fine Art at Falmouth.”
There is also great news to report from Waddesdon School, where there was a school record pass rate of 99.5%.
Headteacher Peter Norman said: “Congratulations to our students on their remarkable success in their AS and A Level examinations!
“The 99.5% pass rate is a school record, with students achieving 20% above national expectations for progress.
“55% of grades were A*-B and nearly nine out of ten grades were C or above.
“As a result of their commitment and hard work and the dedicated support of their teachers, parents and families our students are able to go on to the next phase of their learning, training or employment with confidence and optimism.
“They take with them our very best wishes for future happiness, success and fulfilment.
“Well done to all!”
