Villagers gather to remember the past and plant for the future

A group of helpful villagers came together to plant both the tree and bulbs and it was heartwarming to see so many faces, united in a shared love for our little village and in honour of someone that did so much for our community.
Amanda’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and this tree and plaque (donated by Jim Smith from Wright Funeral Services) will serve as a lasting tribute to her legacy.

Hide AdThe day started off with a light drizzle, but that didn’t stop us! Armed with shovels, gardening gloves (Bare hands for Rob!), and a whole lot of enthusiasm, we dug in (literally!) and shared smiles, stories, and laughter as we worked side by side. Overseen by Richard and Fiona Blacklock and with tree planting help from Ed Davies, everyone from young kids to grandparents joined in, bringing their own unique flair to the event.
After planting, we gathered for some delicious refreshments kindly baked by Fiona and put the plaque in its place. It's moments like this that remind us of the strength of our community and how we can come together in times of remembrance and joy.
A huge shoutout to the parish council for providing the tree and bulbs and supporting initiatives like these that breathe life into our village! Here’s to new memories, blooming flowers, and of course, Amanda’s lasting legacy!
