Buckingham Town Council would like to thank everyone who entered the parade and contributed to making it such a successful community event, as well as the shops and eateries who took part in the Best Dressed Window competition. The town centre was bustling throughout the day, with fantastic entertainment provided by Brackley Morris Men, Accent Percussion, Stagecoach Performing Arts, and street entertainment from MJ Productions. Thank you also to Martin Try and his company, G&T Mixers for providing their PA system and time for the event.

Cllr Robin Stuchbury, Chair of Town Centre and Events Committee, said:

“Thank you to all the community organisations who joined in the Christmas Parade this year. The parade was once again very well attended, with so many people turning out to watch it process through Buckingham town centre.

Buckingham Town Council’s Town Centre and Events Committee allocated a budget of £6,100 to facilitate this event on behalf of the community, and Town Council Members again took part in the parade, led by the Mayor, Councillor Fran Davies.

This event forms part of the Town Council’s continued investment in community events throughout the Christmas period. None of this would be possible without the support of our volunteers and Town Council officers and staff who managed the barriers and road closures, working in partnership with the Parade Committee, who organise and coordinate the participating groups.

The combined efforts of everyone involved help create an event that supports the local economy in Buckingham and North Buckinghamshire, brings community organisations together, and gives pleasure to so many people.”
