Organisers of Tring’s huge annual music festival, Chilfest, are delighted to announce a ticket giveaway for NHS staff at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Having been forced to make the heart-breaking decisions to postpone and then cancel the Chilfest event in 2020, plans for Chilfest 2021 are set to be the biggest and best yet.

Chilfest, which has attracted around 70,000 people over the past 7 years, has long supported charitable causes, with over £30,000 raised for charities including DENS and Herts Young Homeless.

Organisers have gifted 150 adult tickets for Totally Tribute (9 July) and Chilfest (10 July) to the Trust, and staff will be selected at random to win pairs of tickets.

Steve Butcher, director and founder of Chilfest, feels honoured to be able to give back to these hardworking members of our community.

He said: "Last year we were clapping for our carers and this year they’re still facing the greatest challenges the NHS has ever experienced.

"I wanted to show my appreciation for their amazing work and offer frontline staff the chance to come along and enjoy our festival.

"It’s only a small way of saying ‘thank you’ to these heroes, but as we all know, small acts of kindness are going a long way these days."

Bridget O’Kelly, Chief People Officer from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust said: "We’re extremely grateful to Chilfest for gifting these tickets to our staff.

"The generous donations we’ve received over the last year have helped to boost morale and we know the lucky winners of the tickets will appreciate a well-deserved break from work."

The live events industry has been wiped out by the pandemic. Whilst he protects and rebuilds his business, Steve and several members of his team are also doing their little bit for the country, currently working in Covid test centres.

With good news around vaccination and light at the end of the tunnel, the team are focused on helping where they can whilst also preparing for the comeback of their beautifully organised music festival.
