There was a review of the Government's three tier system and it has been announced today (Thursday) that Buckinghamshire will move to the highest tier.

From this Saturday, December 19, Aylesbury, along with the whole of Buckinghamshire will be designated in the tier 3 (Very High alert) category by central government. There will be a five-day relaxation of restrictions from 23 to 27 December, which will allow up to three households to congregate for Christmas.

Reviews will continue every two weeks, so there will be another on December 30, and then a third on January 13.

MPs will vote on the tier system again on 27 January.
