Wetherspoons deny local rumours it is considering taking over closed Aylesbury pub
The Red Lion in Bierton has been closed for some time.
Rumours circulating locally suggested pub chain giant Wetherspoons was considering taking over the Red Lion.
The Bucks Herald contacted Wetherspoons but the pub operator denied the claims
In a short statement, a spokesman for Wetherspoons said: "Unfortunately there was no truth in the rumour.
"It's not one of our pubs I'm afraid."
