Residents anger after Wendover Road Floods this morning due to burst main

The road looks to be in a sorry state after a pipe burst last night.

Thames Valley Police have asked drivers to find an alternative route, after the road was put out of action early this morning.

They said: "Thames Valley Police are working with Fire and Rescue to resolve flooding caused by a burst water main on Wendover Road, Aylesbury.

"This is located shortly after the Marroway Roundabout. Please avoid the area and plan an alternative route."

Thames Water put the flooding down to a burst water main on Wendover Road.

They added a team is en route to investigate.

Wendover residents are reporting having no water this morning.

Karen Flynn, who lives in the area said: "We were woken up this morning at 5am by the emergency services arriving at the scene.

"It looks like there's been an earthquake, like something out of a disaster movie.

"Water is flooding homes and the Health Centre looks as though it has had to close.

"I warned the Council in June that something like this was bound to happen."
