Buckinghamshire Council "The usual Remembrance Sunday event in Aylesbury will not be taking place this year"

Things 'have to be done differently' this year because of Coronavirus

The usual Remembrance Sunday event in Aylesbury will not be taking place this year.

The Council said that they wanted to remind everyone that they can still remember and show their respects, but this year it has to be done differently.

They said: "We are asking anyone planning to take a wreath to the Aylesbury memorial to do so in a safe and strictly social distanced way following the Government’s new national restrictions available here Buckinghamshire Council has also laid turf in front of the Aylesbury memorial so members of the public can place the small wooden crosses with the poppy attached in memory of their loved one/s.

For those people who would prefer to mark this important event at home, they can join others across our nation by paying their respects, observing the two-minute silence and watching the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London, on television at 11am on Sunday.
