There is now funding available for those who have been affected by the damage caused from the floods over the Christmas period.

The fund will be managed through the local parish and town councils, churches, local community groups and businesses working with those affected by the flooding.

The funding can be used to provide hotel accommodation, food, heating, pumps and even presents to those families worst affected. Restaurants will be given access to the funding to provide hot meals that may be needed.

Chairman of the Buckingham and Villages Community Board, Cllr Charlie Clare said: “With dozens of homes flooded and with Christmas tomorrow this could not have come at a worse time.

"The community is being amazing, as always, and finding ways to support those affected. The Buckingham and Villages Community Board has also agreed to provide a £10,000 Immediate Impact Flood Fund to support local families affected over the next few days.”

Local Councillors Charlie Clare and Warren Whyte along with Council Leader Martin Tett have also been in the area giving out Christmas presents from the council’s annual Christmas Present Appeal.
