‘Our shops have been closed for almost of a third of the year, leading to a huge drop in income for the Hospice. After the lockdown in November, we are expecting December to be one of our busiest periods ever and it is so important to us to be able to keep on top of the donations coming in and shelves stocked in the run up to Christmas to try and bolster our takings for the year,’ says Lily Caswell, Head of Retail at the Charity.

“Many of our longstanding volunteers have taken a step back due to Covid-19 and the shops are already struggling to keep up with demand, so we are asking anyone who can spare just a few hours each week between 3 rd and 24 th December, to sign up as a Christmas Temp Volunteer,” says Lily.

“All our volunteers get full support and training from their Shop Manager. It’s a great way to get out and meet other people if you have struggled with the periods of isolation this year, if you are in between jobs, back from university, retired or just want to help your local community.”

The Charity is looking for Christmas Temp Volunteers to help in their shops in Aylesbury on Broadfields and Walton Court, Haddenham, Wendover and Winslow as well as their Online Sales team based in Aylesbury.
