Aylesbury MP Welcomes the return of Schools

Rob has praised the hard work teachers, heads and support staff have done adapting to the new circumstances to stay safe, and so ensure pupils once more benefit from classroom learning.

Parliament has also resumed today, with Rob due to ask a question in the chamber later this afternoon. For the first time since lockdown, his staff have also returned to Westminster,

where the offices have been adapted to be Covid secure.

Rob said: “I send my best wishes to everyone going back to school across the Aylesbury constituency this week - pupils, teachers, heads and support staff.

“I know how hard the past few months have been, and I’m grateful to the many staff who have spent the summer holiday making plans for the safe return of their students in a new

environment.

“Being back in school is absolutely essential for our students, not just because of what they will be taught by their teachers, but what they will learn from their friends and classmates.

“Likewise, I am delighted to be back in parliament, where I look forward to continuing to speak up for my constituents on the issues that matter most to them. Being based in

Westminster makes that job much easier, and I am very pleased that my parliamentary staff have also been able to come back to the office, following the excellent work to make the House of Commons covid-secure.

“I know many local businesses have also been adapting to ensure their employees can return to work safely, and I encourage them to do so if at all possible.

“Covid-19 will be with us for some time to come, and it is important that we now try to find ways to work around it, so that we can live more normal lives in the months ahead”
