To mark the occasion, 5 ladies who live at Bartlett’s Home in Aylesbury have decided to take on the challenge of walking around the grounds 104 times, all while raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The walk will begin on the 1st October 2020 - and will be taken part in by Hilda Duncombe, Lisa Cooke, Janet Fearnley, Mary Alpert and Vivien Schofield.

Hilda previously walked 103 laps of Bartlett's to celebrate her 103rd birthday and 25th anniversary of the Home.

Her walk was also in memory of her husband Stanley Duncombe who was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and whom she nursed for several years before he passed away in 2001.

Hilda was greatly inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore, and managed to raise over £7,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society herself!

This year, she will be walking with 4 other remarkable ladies from Bartlett's, who all have this particular cause close to their hearts.
