Young dons make-up and lederhosen to reprise his West End success as pre-war Berlin’s Kit Kat Klub’s Emcee and, believe me, it’s well worth the short trip to Oxford.

Ever since winning the inaugural series of Pop Idol in 2002, Young has been one of the UK’s most popular and successful music artists.

He made his acting debut alongside Dame Judi Dench in the film Mrs Henderson Presents and now tops that with a bravura stage performance.

He’s joined in the production by Siobhan Dillon as jaded nightclub singer Sally Bowles, theatre veterans Lyn Paul and Linal Haft, Matt Rawle and Nicholas Tizzard.

Cabaret features show-stopping choreography, dazzling costumes and some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre including Money Makes the World Go Round, Two Ladies, Maybe This Time and the title song.

Rufus Norris’ stunning production captures the dark heart of a Berlin caught up in the rise of Nazism. Amid the gaiety of the city’s nightclub scene is a sobering story of persecution and prejudice.

Cabaret runs from Tuesday until Saturday. For tickets call the box office 0844 871 3020 or visit www.atgtickets.com/oxford
