Tringe showcases talent

ONE of the largest comedy festivals outside of Edinburgh kicks off in just two weeks time. The 2012 Tringe Festival is the final stopping point for many leading acts before heading up to the Edinburgh Festival

Taking place between July 1-21 , Get Stuffed will present three whole weeks of Edinburgh previews.

Showcasing some of the best acts around there’s a fantastic programme, mixing well-known names with up and coming comedians. More than 50 acts will be performing in eight different venues that include The Waterside and Limelight Theatres in Aylesbury and The Court Theatre in Tring, over a 21-day period.

There are also family shows including Horrible Histories, Pinocchio and Nick Arnold’s Horrible Science Show.

This is the third Tringe and it has grown to become a hugely successful part of the comedy calendar. It is the 7th longest comedy festival in the world and acts include Jenny Éclair, Lucy Porter, Jo Caufield, Russell Kane, Sean Hughes, Paul Sinha and Mark Little.

It’s produced by Get Stuffed , a not-for-profit comedy club based in Tring that was formed about five years ago to bring London quality comedy to the Home counties while raising money for good causes. To date they’ve raised more than £50,000.
