Shiver has premiere at Watford Palace Theatre

The world premiere of Daniel Kanaber’s new play, Shiver, opens at Watford Palace Theatre on Thursday.

Stage and screen actor David Horovitch stars along with, Ben Caplan and Ilan Goodman (both in Call The Midwife) in this haunting, warm and funny play about family, identity, and love.

When Sadie dies, her husband (a lapsed Jew), their son (an atheist), and a trainee Rabbi, gather together at her home to remember her in the tradition of sitting Shivah...

Daniel Kanaber has previously written for the Royal Court and Soho Theatre’s writers’ groups, as well as Theatre503 and Watford Palace Theatre Creative Associate Company – Nabokov.

His short film Strays (directed by Robert McKillop), longlisted for a BAFTA, is being developed as a feature. 

Shiver is being directed by Derek Bond who revived Neil Simon’s comedy Lost in Yonkers at the WPT in 2012.
