Sex, lies and Neil Simon at The Court Theatre

NEIL Simon’s acutely observed comedy, California Suite, opens at The Court Theatre opens for a four night run starting on Wednesday.

The Pendley Theatre Company’s production will bring a splash of West Coast sunshine to the Tring venue - along with a sprinkling of sex, lies, jealousy and desperation.

Set in the same suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel the play tells four stories about some of the ‘guests’ who stay in rooms 203/204 during the course of a year.

Written in 1976 California Suite is one of a trilogy of plays that follow the same format. In 1978 it was turned into an Oscar winning film featuring a stellar cast that included Jane Fonda and Michael Caine.

Director Lee Westlake is staying true to the 1970’s theme and is reflecting both the film and theatre pedigree of the play and has commissioned a series of film vignettes especially for this production set to suitably ‘Californian’ music of the time.

Running from November 30 to December 3. For tickets call the box office: 07543 560 478 or www.courttheatre.co.uk
