The Waterside marks the start of their UK tour as the popular ballet company performs a dramatic and entertaining programme of two Russian classics;

Romeo & Juliet (Mon 4 Nov) and the Nutcracker (Tue 5 and Wed 6 Nov).

Romeo and Juliet is a signature piece of the company’s repertoire set to Prokofiev’s dramatic score. All the hustle and bustle of Renaissance Verona is brought to life in this powerful production following the fate of the star-crossed teenage lovers.

The Nutcracker boasts Tchaikovsky’s rich score, complete with stunning costumes and sumptuous sets. This enchanting ballet tells the story of Clara’s magical adventure with her Nutcracker Prince, including a visit to the delicious Land of Sweets and the delightful Sugar Plum Fairy, and is a real festive treat.

Artistic director, Ludmila Neroubashchenko, said: “We are committed to continue entertaining audiences with our Russian jewels performed by world class dancers.

“This season we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, so we hope to commemorate it with a magical and entertaining tour in memory of Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, former Bolshoi Ballet soloist and distinguished choreographer.”
