But that’s not the only music on offer throughout the season, writes Heather Jan Brunt.

Patrons can also look forward to classics, a local legend and regular open mic nights to give everyone a chance to shine on stage.

The folk shows include multi instrumentalists Blackheart appearing on September 5; the charming and talented Gawkey on September 20; and Jim Causley and Lukas Drinkwater later in November.

Blues nights are well catered for with a return from the Bare Bones Boogie Band in September, followed by the Grammy-nominated Hitman Blues Band and modern blues power trio Absolution in October.

Former bandmate to Jimi Hendrix, Eddie ‘Blue’ Lester rounds off the blues gigs in November as he brings the promotional tour for his latest album to the Limelight stage.

Other genres on offer include Robert Habermann presenting his tribute to Frank Sinatra in September; gospel music from Roy McNabb; a rip roaring tribute show from Who’s Who; and Glastonbury emerging talent competition winners Bridie Jackson and the Arbour.

Local musicians will shine in the September and November gig nights, featuring Callow Saints, fresh from their appearance at this year’s Hobble on the Cobbles .

And evergreen John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett will delight their legions of fans with two shows in October.

Music isn’t the only thing on offer however, as comedy is on the menu in the shape of hugely popular stand-up Sean Hughes; as well as a comedy gala night in October.

All this plus open mic nights, a comic rendition of The Three Musketeers and to round off the season, the traditional family pantomime this year is Dick Whittington and his Cat.
