After the success of last year’s big screen outdoor film screenings, Waddesdon Manor is once more playing host to a couple of blockbuster movies in the gardens of the North Front.

All time favourite, classic musical Singin’ in the Rain (U) starring Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Cyd Charisse is on Friday (September 4).

Into the Woods (PG)with an all star cast including Buckinghamshire’s own James Corden, Hollywood legend Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt is on Saturday (September 5).

The summer night film screenings are organised by QUAD, and everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic and make a night of it.

I went to last year’s screening of James Bond Skyfall and it was a fantastic evening. People brought picnics from the simple to elaborate, together with deckchairs, little tables and rugs. It’s also important to bring lots of clothing because no matter how warm it is when you arrive, as the sun disappears and the night closes in, it gets very chilly and you need several layers!

Gates open on both nights at 6.30pm, with the films starting around 8pm when the night closes in and it is dark enough for the screening to begin.

Tickets cost £12 and are available from 01296 653226.
