More than 250 local young people aged from nine to 21 who can sing, dance and act are being sought to take part in this iconic musical which will be performed during August.

Auditions will take place on Sunday April 26 at 10am at the Swan Theatre.Technical assistance is also needed, and 25 young people are wanted to learn about set building, stage management, sound, lighting, design and props.

The popular musical transports the audience back to Tinseltown glamour, telling the story of the first Hollywood musical when the silver screen found its voice.

The show has a glorious score and includes Good Morning, Make ‘em Laugh and of course, Singin’ in the Rain.

Now in its 23rd year the Swan’s summer project is a theatrical extravaganza that involves young people in the staging and performing of a full-scale musical in just two weeks as they work together with a professional creative team. Rehearsals will be from Sunday August 9 with performances on Friday August 21 through to Sunday 23.

At the auditions everyone will get a chance to sing, act and dance, but the creative team is especially looking for enthusiasm, passion and energy to cast the main roles.

No preparation is required for the audition as everything will be taught by the team on the day, but those wishing to audition need to register and fill out a form which can be downloaded from https://wycombeswan.co.uk/Online/wsyouthproject
