Put Chinnor record attempt in your calendar

Chinnor Players are joining a record-breaking attempt for the most amateur dramatic groups across the UK performing the same show.

The Players will be staging Tim Firth’s Calendar Girls from October 11-13 at the village hall.

It is the first time since the film was released that the copyright has been made available to amateur groups – the record attempt is for the most performances of the same show over 18 months.

Producer Rose Weakley said: “The cast are all very dedicated and working hard learning their scripts as well as topping up the sun tans for those most ‘revealing’ moments.

“Names of the cast are still under wraps, but many of you will recognise the usual familiar faces of Chinnor Players.

“Tickets will be available from the Spar Store, church road, Chinnor from beginning of September.

“Prices have been retained at £7.50 or £5 concession; tickets will also be available on the door at each performance.

“We are also asking local businesses to donate a raffle prize to boost funds raised.

“Please contact Rose on 07803000575 richardweakley@aol.com. In exchange for a raffle prize we will include you in the programme.”
