Aylesbury is getting more HD channels

High-definition Freeview boxes in Aylesbury Vale will be able to receive a number of new HD channels from April 1.

The new channels – BBC Four HD (channel 106), BBC News HD (107), CBeebies HD (74) and Al Jazeera English HD (108) – take the total number of HD channels available on Freeview to ten.

It comes after the Oxford transmitter which serves the area was upgraded.

Ilse Howling, managing director at Freeview, said: “We are delighted to make even more HD channels available to Freeview viewers.

“Freeview HD is already enjoyed in 3.7 million UK homes across the country and these additional channels will allow them to watch even more of their favourite programmes for free, in stunning HD.”

Other channels available in Freeview HD are CBBC HD, BBC One HD, BBC Two HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD and BBC Three HD.
