Double delights for railway enthusiasts in Buckinghamshire
The Beattie Bash is being held at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre over the Bank Holiday weekend.
On Sunday May 29 and Bank Holiday Monday May 30 two 142-year-old sister locomotives will run together. The centre’s own Beattie well tank No. 30585 will be reunited with her sister engine, Beattie well tank No. 30587, who is visiting for a special weekend to celebrate these two beautiful veteran locomotives built in 1874.
Also on Bank Holiday Monday, the centre in Quainton is holding its annual Heritage Bus Rally which includes a Heritage Bus link from Aylesbury Vale Parkway railway station, so visitors can travel without using the car.
