Aylesbury Opera group is planning a comeback show as it bids to re-establish itself in the town.
The group, which was formed in 1979, is famed for its renditions of opera classics with the backing of a full orchestra.
But over the last decade members have performed shows at the Court Theatre in Tring for financial reasons.
The Aylesbury show will take place at St Mary’s Church on Saturday November 3.
It will be the group’s first in the town since it performed at the Civic Centre in 2001.
Musical director Anthony McCarthy will lead the piano-only concert which will feature choruses, arias and ensembles from a variety of operas by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi and Richard Strauss.
Particular highlights include the Brindisi from La Traviata, the trio Soave Sia Il Vento from Cosi Fan Tutte, the Soldiers’ Chorus from Faust and the final trio from Der Rosenkavalier.
Philip Hayes, chairman of the opera group, said: “We want to do more in Aylesbury because we are Aylesbury Opera Group and we thought that doing a doing a concert in St Mary’s Church is a great way of getting back into the town.
“The real challenge is that we have been around a long time, but I am not sure we are particularly well known about.
“We just want to re-establish ourselves with Aylesbury. By and large most of our members come from Aylesbury and the surrounding areas.
“The show is open to all, it does tend to be just an older audience that comes but we would love to change that and welcome people of all ages.”
Members still rehearse each week at the Holy Trinity Church hall in Walton Street and Mr Hayes says new members are always welcome.
The group will also perform at Tring’s St Peter and Paul Church on November 10. Both concerts start at 7.30pm and last two hours.
Tickets to the show, called A Night At The Opera, are £10.
