Chinnor Players say thank you

The Chinnor Players have thanked everyone who supported their Calendar Girls production this month.

The group created its own calendar and sold copies of it to raise money for leukaemia and lymphoma charities.

The show was the group’s biggest production to date.

Players’ spokeswoman Zena Baker said: “The whole cast and production team worked their socks off to make this the biggest and best production Chinnor Players have performed to date.

“Touching performances from everyone kept the audiences captivated and lead to thunderous applause as the final curtain came down.

“Pat Samuel directed with Rose Weakley as her producer, both ladies making a resourceful team.

“Members of the cast included, Julia Adamson, Helen and Megan Boddy, Lyn Boyd-Leslie, Jane Burke, Iain and Andrew Cameron, Emily East, Carolyn Irving, Caroline and Shannon Pearce, Rose Weakley. Last but by no means least, Chris Jackson who we normally see as the Front of House Manager, taking on his first appearance for Chinnor Players on stage. Well done Chris hopefully we will see more of you in the spotlights in the future.

“The accounts are still being pulled together, but ticket sales were up up up, and the calendar sold like hot cakes.

“In the November edition of the Chinnor Pump we will be able to publish the final amount of money which was raised and donated to the charities mentioned above.

“In the meantime Chinnor Players would like to say a very big thank you to all of you who supported Calendar Girls.

“Many local businesses donated raffle prizes, and the calendar itself often went for more than the nominal £5 asked.

“We look forward to seeing you all again at the pantomime in January 2013.”
