STAR AND GARTER FILM SHOW. Roy Collis, who presented the show in Westcott earlier this year, has recently retired but tells me that he will be making a last presentation at Adstock Village Hall on November 8.
If any who did not manage to get tickets for the Westcott show are interested in attending this time, please let me know and I will see that you are on the mailing list for further details later.

The funds raised from the Westcott show will help
towards the new home to be opened in Solihull in mid-2008, and another new home is planned on the site near Hampton Court Bridge.

The draw tickets sold at Westcott will be drawn in December so if you have any don't mislay them.

ST MARY'S CHURCH. Family Holy Communion at 9.30am on Sunday October 21.
Open House at Waddesdon Rectory from 10am to 3pm on Saturday October 20 with sale of Fairly Traded goods, lunches and refreshments. All welcome.

POPPY APPEAL. Collecting begins on Saturday October 27 and the Waddesdon area includes Westcott. Norman Carr reports that the 2006 appeal raised more than £2,250 and hopes the 2007 door-to-door collection by his willing volunteers will increase this amount.

WADDESDON POLICE STATION is manned by a dedicated band of volunteers, one of whom is from Westcott. It is only open three days a week for short periods but if more volunteers are available Pc Nixon would be grateful to hear from them so that opening hours can be increased.

THIS COLUMN. A printing omission in the item on Becky should have read 'left the village to return to her home in Scotland and has written to father Eric...' Also, yes, I am still writing this column although a recent one was attributed to a different correspondent. Do remember that any news from organisations will receive free publicity as long as I receive it by 4.30pm on Tuesdays.
