FOR many people the thought of telling police about drug users and dealers is something of a daunting task.
They often feel intimidated or scared of the repercussions that they could face because they speak out against a trade that ruins lives and kills people, not only in this country but in the war ridden places that drugs are sourced.

Residents of Meredith Drive should be congratulated for their resolve and for standing up against drug users who brought misery and fear to a
very local area.

Their combined stand against drugs has driven away an element that no right-minded person would want on their doorstep.

Nobody should feel unable or unwilling to leave their home because the people they share a street with are into illicit activities.

The people of Meredith Drive chose to use their option of saying no to drugs in the same way that people who take the drugs also have the option to say no.

Addicts should be helped, but so should the communities that surround
the activity.

The Bucks Herald will continue to work with Thames Valley Police along with legal services to highlight the issues and individuals involved in drug use and together we will uphold the public's resolve to clear drugs
the streets of Aylesbury.

People in the town and surrounding areas should hope that this crack house was a one-off and that the closure is not a signal of more of the same to come.

It is time for the overwhelming majority of people who are against the
trade to stand up and be counted in the fight against the tiny minority.
