A brave new world indeed
This is Aylesbury, so come in and enjoy it – that's the message from developers of the new Waterside project, the revised plans of which have just been released and are featured on our front page.
A brave new world indeed.
So what do you think of the new-look development? Will the bridge over Exchange Street be the answer to access the proposed food store and department store in safety from the traffic?
As always we invite our readers to let us know their views so we can monitor public opinion and reflect the concerns and accolades faithfully.
We do value your opinions on these important matters and are glad to report this week that your concerns over road safety issues after the deaths of so many of our young people on the roads have been taken on board by an influential House of Commons Committee.
This week the Transport Select Committee published a report recommending that the driving age be raised to 18 and a limit be put on the number of passengers newly-qualified drivers would be allowed to carry in their first year on the road.
These recommendations are much in line with the proposals we set forward in our road safety campaign after weeks of consultation with readers, especially those personally connected with the tragedies we have seen unfold.
Public opinion is of consequence and we we see it as an important part of our role to give it further voice.
