Triple X rated horse to show there is neigh better
Triple X being ridden by Ben Maher
A HORSE from Quainton has been selected to represent Britain in the European Showjumping Championships.
Having performed well at the recent Nations Cup in Rotterdam, in which Britain finished second, Triple X and rider Ben Maher were chosen to compete in the prestigious competition in Spain.
The stallion is co-owned by Ben and the Quainton Stud Centre.
Mike and Emma Phillips have run Quainton Stud since 2004 and are hopeful Triple X could feature at the London 2012 Olympics.
The European Showjumping Championships take place in Madrid between September 13 and 18.
Chef d’Equipe for the British squad, Rob Hoekstra, said: “We are taking a strong team to Madrid, with a combination of the Nations Cup teams that won in Dublin and had a great result in Rotterdam.”
Ben is currently competing and training various Quainton stud horses including Robin Hood, Triple X, Quainton Quirifino, Tackeray and Balvaro.
He was a key member of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games team.
