Webber donates Red Bull race helmet to charity auction
Mark Webber's helmet is going to auction
Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber has generously donated his 2012 Grand Prix helmet worn in Japan, India and Brazil, to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The Aston Clinton superstar, who co-owns the Stag at Mentmore with his partner, showed life in the fast lane is not all about glitz, glamour and money as he gave away his headgear to help a worthy cause.
The helmet has been donated to auction website Sellebrity which said it is ‘absolutely delighted to sell this one-off collector’s item’.
A spokesman said: “Helmets are among the most expensive racing and F1 memorabilia, and represent the pinnacle of the race collecting hobby.”
Webber started last season as a major title contender before finally finishing the season in sixth place. The auction ends on February 3.
