Ginetta racer Ingram’s battle for unprecedented hat-trick goes right down to the wire
Bucks racer Tom Ingram
Tom Ingram has vowed to go all-out for glory in the 2012 Ginetta GT Supercup finale at Brands Hatch, after a troubled weekend at Silverstone that has left the Bucks racer on the back foot in the title tussle.
The Aylesbury talent passport holder is ready to fight to the last in his quest for an unprecedented hat-trick of crowns.
Ingram travelled to Silverstone at the weekend buoyed by a magnificent double victory at Rockingham which cut the gap to the title leader to just 42 points.
But, despite topping the timesheets in practice in the wet in his JHR Developments-run Ginetta G55, once the water evaporated, so too did his advantage.
His woes were compounded by his two principal adversaries taking the chequered flag first and second as he slipped to 52 adrift of the top with 109 up for grabs at Brands Hatch. “It was a frustrating weekend, but this isn’t over yet and we’ll come out fighting,” Ingram said.
“We will bounce back. It’s going to be tough, but we’ve just got to go there targeting three wins and see if that’s enough.”
