Four is the magic number for Webber

RED Bull’s Mark Webber insists this year’s F1 title chase will be between his team and McLaren despite Fernando Alonso’s shock win in Malaysia on Sunday, where Aston Clinton’s Aussie racer finished fourth.

It was the second race in a row Webber has finished fourth, after qualifying fourth on Saturday.

Despite Alonso’s victory in a treacherous and rain-soaked Sepang, it is not thought Ferrari will have the staying power to last the course of a gruelling season, such has been their demise in recent seasons.

And Webber thinks it will boil down to who is better out of him, teammate Seb Vettel and McLaren’s English duo Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.

“It’s very early days but the impression is that we seem to be in a battle.”
