Quainton’s Dave Ralls beat Craig Brown in four pulsating sets of table tennis to win the 2015 Aylesbury Table Tennis Championships.

Held at its new venue at the Quarrendon and Meadowcroft Community Association, 33 players contested the singles competition with 2014 runner-up Craig Brown keen to make amends for last year’s final defeat, while four-time winner Andy Misseldine was looking to add to his tally.

Both eased their way into the semi-finals, despite the attention of top premier players, along with Neil Massa from Bierton and Dave Ralls.

Craig won his semi-final 3-1 over Neil while Ralls played Andy Misseldine (Haddenham) in the other semi-final and looked in the ascendancy despite losing the first and fourth sets. From somewhere, he found some fantastic hitting to surprise Andy and win in five sets.

He carried this focused attack into the final against Craig and won in four pulsating sets of table tennis that were hugely enjoyed by onlookers.
