Bucks Hornets U14 returned to winning ways with a 75-56 win over a strong Ipswich outfit.

Hornets started the game positively and raced into a 9-0 lead before Ipswich came back with some long-range shooting.

In the second quarter, Ipswich continued their fightback with 11 unanswered points, but accurate shooting Bradley and James ensured the Hornets took a 36-34 lead into half-time.

Bucks then upped their defensive game in the second period while strong scoring from Jaden enabled them to build a sizeable lead which ultimately ended with a deserved victory.

Coach Lee McCarthy said: “We were certainly more switched on this week, although it took us a few minutes to get going defensively. We’re trying out some new things and there’s still a lot for us to learn but we showed good signs of improvement throughout the game. This will help us going forward into our next few games.”

Leading the scoring for Hornets were Bradley with 24 points and Jaden with 22.

Elsewhere, Bucks Hornets U18s beat Cambridge Cats 63-47, while the U16 Boys beat the same opponents 58-36.
