Bucks Hornets U18s won their first National Basketball League play-off in style by thrashing Cardiff Met Archers 83-40.
Hornets finished their league season top of the East Conference, recording only two losses throughout the entire season, which set up a play-off game against Southwest Conference champions Cardiff.
Hornets looked to establish their superiority from the outset as they held the opposition to only seven points in the first quarter as Bucks’ free-flowing team game helped them to assert their dominance.
A late second quarter highlight was Ashton driving off the Jordan Davis assist to throw it down over an opposition player for the bucket and the foul.
In the second half, Hornets continued to run away with the game with some fantastic performances from some younger players, most notably Baraka Noel and Josh Hughes. Bucks went on to finish the match in fine form, more than doubling Met’s score.
Leading scorer was David Forsyth with 19 points, followed by Ashton Linney with 12 points and Sehab Ahmed on 10.
Hornets’ second round play-off match is away to Bristol Flyers, Premiership South Champions, on Saturday, April 11.
