Wendover completed their season with a convincing 105-run victory over Eddlesborough.

Put in to bat, Wendover lost four early wickets and were reduced to 39-4.

But Eddlesborough were left to rue missed catches as Bob Glue took full advantage and scored a magnificent 98 including eight fours and four sixes. He shared a fifth wicket partnership of 137 with Jonathan Seabrook (33 not out) before the innings closed on 181-5.

In reply, Barney Lennon dismissed four of the top five batsmen in recording a career best 4-45. Brandon Ridgley 3-8 and Philip Seabrook 3-6 then pressed home the advantage as the visitors succumbed to 76 all out, leaving Wendover winners by 105 runs.

Meanwhile, Aylesbury Cricket Club, along with Bucks County Cricket Board and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust hosted a tournament last week and hope it will lead to the development of a new league next year.

The aim of the tournament was to make a commitment to develop opportunities for players who have experienced mental health difficulties and aims to assist them to develop their interest in cricket and facilitate moves into local club games.

A spokesman said: “It is about a commitment to inclusivity and developing a community club accessible to all.”
