It was a day of mixed fortunes for Aylesbury’s two Southern League clubs.
Aylesbury FC’s promotion bid hit a stumbling block as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at lowly Leighton Town.
The home side took a 20th minute lead before Bradley Wadkins’ levelled proceedings 10 minutes later and that’s how it remained until full-time.
FC’s promotion rivals Rugby Town, Bedworth United and Hanwell Town also all dropped points, but there were wins for fellow play-off chasers Royston and Barton Rovers.
Aylesbury United, meanwhile, returned to winning ways with a slender 1-0 win at Bedford Town. Jason Blackett scored the only goal of the game on 35 minutes.
Elsewhere, Risborough Rangers thrashed Southall 5-1 – Martin Griggs with a hat-trick – to boost their SSML Division One promotion ambitions, while Tring Athletic lost 2-1 away at Hadley in the Premier Division.
