Tring Athletic held their end of season presentation evening at the Grass Roots Stadium to celebrate a highly successful 2014-15 campaign.

Kevin McManus capped a terrific debut campaign for the club by picking up two first team trophies – the Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player of the Year awards.

It was merited recognition for a player who performed superbly throughout the season.

The first team Manager’s Player of the Year award went to Chris Vardy after he netted 29 vital goals in during the campaign. The lively forward has now bagged 43 goals in the two seasons he has been with the Tring outfit.

Other awards went to: James Cullimore (reserve team Players’ Player and Manager’s Player), Luke Naylor (A Team Players’ Player), Jack Gibbs (A Team Manager’s Player), Dave Allen and Ashley O’Brien (B Team Players’ Player), Phil Monaghan (B Team Manager’s Player), Harry Stroud and Joe Fitzgerald (U18 team Players’ Player), Anthony McCormack (U18 Manager’s Player), Matt Cowan (U15 team Players’ Player) and Will Alexander (U15 team Manager’s Player).

A Clubman of the Year award was presented to vice chairman, programme editor, sandwich maker, changing room cleaner, and all-round handyman Barry Simmons.

Appearance awards were presented to Stuart Stedman for 520 appearances for the club, and Trevor Gibbs for reaching 400.

Various awards and thanks were also given to the many helpers around the club, including Darrell Bodimeade (groundsman); Dee Wells (kit man); Gill Eldridge and Sandra Foskett (refreshments); Colin Sturges (website); Ali Parker and Amanda Stacey (cleaning); Ralph Griffiths and Geoff Gaut (match reports) and Keith Eldridge (social media).

The club also informed those present that honorary secretary Bob Winter is recovering well following his serious operation, but was not able to attend the event.
