Naylor pounces at the death as Athletic see off Holmer Green
Tring Athletic continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a third consecutive win at Holmer Green on Tuesday night.
Tring took a commanding 2-0 lead with goals from Chris Vardy in the 19th minute and Ryan Sturges in 64th minute, but Holmer Green staged a comeback to level the scores at 2-2.
However, it was Athletic who had the last word when 17-year-old Joe Naylor bagged a debut goal when he converted a cross from the outstanding Lee Stobbs in the 90th minute to snatch a late 3-2 win.
Next up for in-form Tring is a home game against Dacorum rivals Leverstock Green in the FA Cup Extra Premilinary Round at The Grass Roots Stadium on Saturday.
