Corries had a start that you can only dream of; on 58 seconds Ben Alcock cut in from the right and crossed for striker Andy Humphreys to dart in front of his marker and bury the ball into the net with glee.

And just two minutes later, Tring doubled their lead as Alcock broke through and drove home from 25 yards.

A shell-shocked Aston rallied and put Corries under the cosh for 20 minutes, but just before the break Tring scored again - and again Alcock was the man to drive the ball home from a corner.

Aston were on top again for long periods in the second half but were profligate in front of goal; David Adamson making a couple of fine saves and the excellent Rob Lear making a fine last ditch tackle to deny Aston.

Tring’s breakaway fourth goal was a thing of beauty – Alcock won the ball in midfield and fed Gibbs who jinked and found Humphreys, allowing the striker to curl a pearler into the top corner of the net.

Aston were deflated – but there was still time for Luke Byrne to score a cracker from the edge of the box to seal a fine win and three points for Corries.

Corinthians: Adamson, West (Wills), Wheeler-King, Elliott, Lowe, Lear, Howe (Byrne), Myatt (Jary), Humphreys, Gibbs, Alcock. Subs Not Used - Travers, Phillips.
